Ross Cooney to deliver discussion on “Building Highly Engaged Software Development Teams”

Ross Cooney, Head of Vehicle Software, Telematics and Global IT at Smith Electric Vehicles has been confirmed as speaker at the North East Tech Meet Up at Campus North, Newcastle taking place on Thursday 28th July.

With nearly twenty years’ experience in the tech industry, Ross Cooney is a well-recognised thought leader and successful entrepreneur.

Ross has ran usergroups and conferences for and Amazon Web Services in various cities in the UK and Ireland and is co-founder of the North East’s SuperMondays.

In this bespoke presentation, organised by NEAA member NRG, Ross will look at how continuous learning engages teams, drives performance excellence and optimises business results.

As Head of Vehicle Software at Smith, Ross has delivered a team of highly skilled software engineers. When Ross joined Smith the company had no internal software capability. All software development was contracted out to vendors or contract developers. This was expensive and quality was inconsistent. Ross went on to build an internal team and insourced all software development.

There are no silver bullets, there isn’t a 10 step plan and it doesn't matter how big your beer fund is anymore. Building a team requires a wide variety of strategies and through some light hearted observations Ross will share some of his tips, tricks and war wounds.

This is a great opportunity to network with likeminded tech enthusiasts, meet Ross, plus many of the North East’s leading technology professionals.
