NEAA Member SMS Tech demonstrates how their cloud-based shop floor management system is transferrable and cross-sector compatible.
About Us:
SMS Tech (Smart Manufacturing Solutions Technology) was established in 2021 through a partnership between SMS (Smart Manufacturing Solutions Ltd) and Scale Digital Ventures. The team at SMS comprises of experts in Quality, Compliance, Health & Safety, Operations while Scale Digital Ventures brings a wealth of experience in software innovation, delivery, and support. This collaboration ensured that all essential areas of expertise were covered for the development and launch of our Shop Floor Management system.
Originally designed, tested and in place for the manufacturing sector, to demonstrate compliance and real-time tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs), SMS Tech was then invited to Maritime 2050 due to the approach from the maritime sector to look at solutions available outside of the current sector. Our solution gained recognition at an innovation event for the Maritime sector hosted at the Port of Tyne in 2021. Following a successful “Dragons’ Den” style pitch, we began beta testing the platform’s capabilities in another sector – with additional compliance requirements from the Department of Trade and feedback from the innovation team new developments were included. After viewing how the product could be cross-sector compatible the team then looked at other sectors.
This led to a successful demonstration and tender process at the Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, where our solution is currently being implemented to control all lead nurses’ auditable tasks and facilities management.

We recognized a gap in the market for a digital solution dedicated to capturing compliance and audit-related tasks within organisation operations, a core area that existing Organisation Information Systems do not cater for.

Decarbonisation Commitment:
