E-Max Systems, the leading provider of ERP software for manufacturing and engineering SMEs, has announced that their cloud-based ERP solution, E-Max ERP, is being implemented by the Advancing Innovative Manufacturing in the South of Scotland (AIMS) Project as part of the region’s drive to support and upskill local manufacturers in advancing technologies.
The AIMS Project was established in 2020 to support manufacturing SMEs across the Scottish Borders and Dumfries & Galloway, and to provide these businesses with access to advanced manufacturing technologies, business support and industry-led experience.
Funded by the Advanced Manufacturing Challenge Fund (ACMF) and South of Scotland Enterprise, the Project aims to help businesses in the region adopt more effective methods of working, through streamlining processes or adopting new technologies, in order for them to become more resilient, agile, and competitive in the face of today’s challenging business environment.
The implementation of E-Max Systems’ innovative ERP solution will provide dual benefits to the AIMS Project, with members of the organisation using E-Max ERP internally to manage their operations, whilst providing local businesses the opportunity to observe ERP in practice and trial it themselves.
Stewart Kelly, Project Manager at the AIMS Project, said, “Working with E-Max Systems will enable us to help businesses in the South of Scotland recognise the opportunities that ERP software can bring to a manufacturing environment. We were impressed by the functionality within E-Max ERP, and being cloud based and therefore accessible from any device, will be an important factor for many businesses as they look to the future.
“We already have an impressive range of advanced manufacturing tools at our facility in Dumfries, including Cobots, 3D Printers and 5 Axis CNC machines. Adding an ERP system that we can use ourselves, and for demonstrations to local businesses interested in adopting new technologies, will be a real advantage.
“Manufacturers today need to operate more efficiently, effectively, and sustainably, enabling them to grow and thrive in a competitive market. Having these tools and resources available for local businesses to explore is a great starting point for any organisation looking to achieve these goals”.
Nick McGladdery, Sales Director at E-Max Systems, said, “Understanding and harnessing new technologies can be challenging for manufacturers who often don’t have the time or resource to review these. The AIMS Project will be hugely valuable to businesses in the South of Scotland, with their expertise, knowledge and state of the art technology solutions.
“An ERP system is often the first step in a digital transformation journey, as it contains all the information a business needs to operate more efficiently, and frequently replaces the spreadsheets that a business has outgrown and are no longer performing effectively. We are delighted that our innovative ERP software will be used by the AIMS Project in their centre of excellence to showcase the advantages ERP systems offer, from streamlining operations, improving productivity, and enhancing the customer experience.”
