Net-Defence Fuels Further Growth with New Partnership

Net-Defence, provider of IT Support, telephony, and cyber resilience services have forged an alliance with industry-led cluster group the North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA).

Addressing supply chain cyber security risks in the Automotive Industry is no longer an added option, it’s a critical priority for the future. As the sector faces growing cyber security challenges, particularly within its complex and interconnected supply chains, experts warn that supply chain vulnerabilities pose significant risks to operations.

Through the collaboration Net-Defence hosted a series of insightful cyber security webinars to support local manufacturing businesses to identify risks and threats to their landscape and their supply chain. From an introduction to cyber and cyber risk, future-proofing the sector beyond the factory floor to navigating supply chain risk in automotive manufacturing, knowledge was shared on the cyber threats faced by these businesses, as well as best practices that can improve business resilience.

Debra Cairns, Managing Director, Net-Defence said: “Securing the automotive supply chain is no longer optional; it’s essential. Understanding cyber threats within the industry really is a fundamental business imperative. Whether you’re a small component manufacturer or a large-scale automotive enterprise, the webinars proved vital information and equipped businesses with foundational knowledge to protect their reputation and sensitive data.

By working together, manufacturers and suppliers can create a resilient ecosystem capable of withstanding evolving cyber threats.”

The North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) was established to support the sustainable economic growth and competitiveness of the North East automotive sector, and the alliance will see both partners work in cohesion to support and educate the sector around cyber threats, which when targeted at suppliers and vendors have the potential to cascade throughout the entire production ecosystem.

Debra added: “Initially joining NEAA as members was the perfect fit, NEAA has been a powerful force in driving growth and innovation in the North East automotive sector for 10 years, and the NEAA’s goals of championing local businesses resonated and aligned with our own ethos.

We’re proud to continue working towards our goal of accessible business resilience for businesses across the region, both big and small, and as members and with help from the NEAA the collaboration and webinars allows us to actively support local businesses by sharing our cyber security knowledge, helping them secure their digital assets and protect their operations.

The series of webinars over the summer were very well-received and we are grateful to the NEAA for giving us this essential platform to support their members, we look forward to helping more businesses protect their most valuable assets through future collaborations.”
