Chemetall develops and manufactures tailor-made technology and system solutions for applied surface technology. The products protect metals from corrosion, facilitate forming and treatment, prepare parts optimally for the painting process and ensure excellent coating adhesion.

Automotive
Chemetall’s metal pretreatment technology can be found in more than 50% of all cars produced globally. Our technology offers long-term corrosion protection and ensures optimal paint adhesion. In order to meet the growing demand for sustainable and innovative multi-metal pretreatment processes we offer our eco-friendly Oxsilan® thin-film technology.
Metal pretreatment plays a vital role in automotive manufacturing. When it runs smoothly, it results in a perfect surface. An optimal paint gloss can only be achieved with an adequate paint system and metal substrate. This is why Chemetall works very closely with all leading paint producers. Together, we optimize existing processes and develop new technical solutions for product innovations.
Sustainable and innovative pre-treatment of metals
Stricter environmental legislation, lightweight construction and the growing mix of metals used on car bodies and automotive components have led to an increased need for alternative conversion coatings. With our Oxsilan® thin-film technology, we offer an sustainable and innovative process suited for multi-metal applications. With our nickel- and phosphate-free Oxsilan® thin-film technology, we can save up to 40% CO2, 50% water and up to 90% sludge compared to conventional processes. Around the world, more than 50 automotive manufacturers and suppliers are already relying on our Oxsilan® thin-film technology.
