Azets grows North East corporate finance team

Azets has grown its corporate finance team in the North East with two appointments.

David Foreman has joined as partner from Barclays Bank where, as regional manager, he led a team of relationship directors.

Foreman is also a founding director of Open North Foundation, which helps sustainable businesses prosper during difficult times, and a director of the Business Durham Advisory Board.

Joining from Azets’ Glasgow office is Joe Sheridan. In his previous role he acted as assistant audit manager.

The new appointments take the corporate finance team to 20-strong.

Lee Humble, UK head of corporate finance at Azets, said: “David and Joe bring a wealth of respective skills and experience with them, with a deep understanding of businesses in the North East and the complexities which come with various ownership and operating structures, including compliance and reporting requirements.

“Their appointments further benefit our clients on buy side, sell side and capital raising, helping clients achieve the best possible outcomes.”

Earlier in the year, the team made two further appointments, with Humble investing in the development of a new strand of the corporate finance offering wrapped around data analysis, interpretation and visualisation.

Humble added: “I am delighted to further complement our local team and I am incredibly excited about what the future will bring for our NE practice. Our increased headcount and broadening skillset are becoming increasingly popular and despite the obvious headwinds of the last few years we envisage further growth across 2024 and beyond.

“The North East business community benefits from some great operators and we look forward to helping them with the delivery of their strategic and transactional objectives.”
