Clive Owen LLP invests in future with new Darlington headquarters and refreshed brand identity to support continued growth

One of theTees Valley’s longstanding professional services firms has marked a significant evolution in its history with the relocation of its headquarters and the launch of a refreshed brand identity, underlining its commitment to the town where it was founded more than 40 years ago.

Clive Owen, one of the North’s leading independent accountancy, personal and business advisory firms, has relocated from its previous Darlington headquarters on Coniscliffe Road to Great North House, on Allington Way.

Around 70 colleagues have moved into the new premises, which provide a modern, welcoming working environment designed to support the firm’s continued growth ambitions, encourage greater collaboration and enhance the experience for colleagues, clients and visitors alike.

The investment represents the latest chapter in the firm’s growth story that began in 1983 when founder Clive Owen established the business.

The firm’s first office opened in Cockerton before expanding to larger premises on Blackwell Lane in 1988 as the team grew to 10 people. Continued success saw the business relocate to Coniscliffe Road in 1997, by which time the team had expanded to around 40 colleagues.

Today, Clive Owen employs over 150 people, including 15 partners, across offices in Darlington, York, Durham, Middlesbrough and Newcastle.

The relocation to Great North House coincides with the launch of a refreshed brand identity, reflecting the firm’s evolution while retaining the values and client-focused approach that have underpinned its success over the last four decades.

Joint Managing Partner Kevin Shotton said: “This is an exciting milestone for the firm and a significant investment in our future, by the partnership. Darlington has always been at the heart of Clive Owen and remains central to our ambitions of continued focussed growth and remaining independent.”

“Our move to Great North House is a natural progression for the business, reflecting our continued success and expansion. The new headquarters provides a high-quality working environment for our people and creates a welcoming space where we can continue delivering exceptional service to our clients.”

Joint Managing Partner Simon Hook added: “Our people are our greatest asset, and it is important that we provide a workplace that supports collaboration, innovation and professional development.

“The relocation also comes at a pivotal moment for the firm as we also unveil a refreshed brand identity. Together, these developments demonstrate our confidence in the future and our ongoing commitment to investing in our people, supporting our clients and contributing to the communities in which we operate.”
