Flood & Coast Conference and Exhibition is an industry-leading annual event created to share and celebrate innovative solutions for people and places most at risk from flooding and coastal erosion.
This year, Flood & Coast is taking place at the Telford International Centre in Shropshire, from the 6th to the 8th of June 2023. At the event, Drive Lines Technologies will be showcasing ADE-WERK Linear Actuators and Grob Antriebstechnik Screw Jacks on stand A3, in collaboration with the ADE-WERK team from Germany.
Drive Lines Technologies supplies components for flood protection and water management hydraulic steel structure applications throughout the UK. As the UK agent for ADE-WERK products, Drive Lines Technologies offers electro-mechanical linear actuator solutions. The growing trend of utilising electric actuators instead of hydraulics for flood defence systems and water level control has been fuelled by environmental benefits, as well as lower operating costs. ADE-WERK’s linear actuators were developed for the operation of weir and sluice gates in shipping canals, and have now expanded to hydro, flood, bridges and other applications
The linear electric actuators offered by Drive Lines Technologies are reliable, with low operating and maintenance costs and a minimum design lifetime of 35 years. They can handle forces up to 2000kN, with a stroke length of up to 8000mm. The actuators offer IP68 submerged protection and have a high level of positioning accuracy of less than 1mm via an AUMA or Rotork user interface.
As well as the ADE-WERK Linear Actuators, Drive Lines Technologies will also have Grob Screw Jacks on their stand. Screw Jacks are typically used wherever controlled lifting, lowering and safe, controlled movement is required. Screw Jacks can be used for sluice gates and flood protection flap seals actuation via motor control or hand wheel operation.
