Education Partnership North East (EPNE) is a multi-award winning college group comprising Sunderland College, Northumberland College, Hartlepool Sixth Form College, and EPNE Training, delivering life-changing courses to 16,500 young people and adults, many of whom are from some of the most deprived areas in the UK.
As the top performing college group in the North East, our provision extends across a wide range of subject areas from entry to degree level and with technical and academic specialisms aligned to the skills needs of the region’s growth and emerging industry sectors. Specialisms include advanced manufacturing and engineering, construction and the built environment, creative and digital, health and care, and land based.
EPNE is one of the largest apprenticeship providers in the region, supporting 1,400 apprentices and working with well over 500 employers each year.
In October 2024, we received an ‘Outstanding’ rating overall and in every area of provision from Ofsted, a significant and remarkable milestone in an ambitious place-based transformation.
We engage very successfully with a wide range of stakeholders, including the North East Combined Authority and employer representative bodies, to understand the skills needs of the local, regional and national economy. Our exceptional employer-led curriculum aligns to these priorities, enabling us to deliver a positive £400m annual impact on the economy.
We are proud to support the 2025 North East Automotive Alliance Awards, as we believe in fostering innovation and excellence within our region.
By celebrating the achievements within the automotive industry, we inspire the next generation of talent and drive forward the economic growth and technological advancements that will shape our future.
