New hire at growing engineering firm

Team Valley-based NTG Precision Engineering has appointed a HR expert as it continues to drive its growth plans.

Samantha Lamb, a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, has joined the company.

Lamb has extensive executive recruitment experience across both private and public sectors including engineering, manufacturing, IT, telecommunications, construction, education and health provision.

The company recruited 11 people last year and since the beginning of 2022 has added a new technical sales engineer, a business development manager and a customer account manager.

It has plans to hire more engineers and apprentices across the next 12 months.

Lamb said: “NTG’s philosophy dovetails perfectly with mine as it genuinely believes that its people are the most important element in the organisation.

“The company has embarked on a growth plan and the calibre of its workforce is central to it achieving excellence across the business. I am looking forward to playing an integral part in helping it achieve its ambitions and helping staff realise their full potential and have fulfilling careers.”

Mike Hutchinson, managing director, said: “Samantha’s extensive HR expertise will ensure that we can create top-class talent pathways to enable staff to develop their skills and knowledge and make certain we provide outstanding job satisfaction.

“We have forged a reputation for attracting high quality people to the business and growing our own high calibre talent through apprenticeships and Samantha will allow us to embed that ethos further within the company.

“She also will help us attract and retain the best people for the job, so we have the specialist engineering capabilities to meet the needs of our customers as well as take on new work.”

The firm boosted its production team last year with CNC engineers and apprentices as well as hiring a finance director and a sales and operations planner.
