Gateshead-based weighing company Northern Balance is set to expand its services after snapping up a weighing equipment hire firm.
A1 Scales was established in 2004 as has since developed relationships with a number of the regions most prominent manufacturing companies.
The acquisition will strengthen Northern Balance’s position as a full-service weighing provider, extending its range of hired equipment services.
It will also provide A1 Scales’ customers with access to an established UKAS calibration service to meet their growing compliance requirements.
Following the transaction, Northern Balance will retain all engineering and back-office team members with company director Maureen Whittle continuing to provide ongoing support within its business administration and engineering functions.
Whittle will assist with the integration of A1 Scale’s people, contracts, and systems as it begins to trade as Northern Balance at its Gateshead headquarters.
