Nissan’s electrified Crossovers broke sales records in Europe in fiscal year 2024, paving the way for even more excitement arriving in the year ahead.
In FY24 (year ending March 31, 2025), Nissan recorded 378,900 overall sales. Highlights included all-time high sales for the JUKE, Nissan’s urban crossover, of 104,000, the highest since JUKE was launched in 2010. Nissan also recorded best-ever sales for the all-electric Ariya crossover with 20,600 units.
The Nissan Qashqai, the original crossover, remained the brand’s top-seller in Europe across the year with 166,800 units last year.
As European customers continue to choose electrified options, 45% of total sales were electrified, ahead of the launches this year of two new all-new all-electric vehicles, the new Nissan Micra and the highly-anticipated new Nissan LEAF, and the new-generation e-POWER technology, Nissan’s unique electrified powertrain, on Qashqai.
Mayra González, Divisional Vice President for Marketing & Sales Europe, said: “Nissan is striving to offer the most exciting range of electrified crossover vehicles to our customers Europe and we are thrilled that customers are joining us on our journey.
“With the all-electric Ariya well-established now in Europe, we’re so excited to bring the new Micra and LEAF EVs to the market in the coming year. Additionally, the hybrid and e-POWER options available on Qashqai, JUKE and X-Trail will continue to support customers as we move together towards full electrification.”
The first new Nissan model to launch in 2025 will be the all-new Micra. It will remain true to the DNA of its predecessors with a compelling mix of audacious style and simplicity in a compact package. Styled at Nissan’s ultramodern Design Centre in London, UK, it will be available with two battery options: 40 and 52kWh, providing a maximum range of over 400km.
The second new vehicle to be launched in Europe in 2025 also represents the return of a historic nameplate, LEAF – a badge forever associated with the pioneering EV which started the mass-market electric vehicle revolution when it was introduced in 2010. The European version of the new LEAF will be manufactured at Nissan’s state-of-the-art production facility in Sunderland, UK.
And having reinvented the hybrid powertrain when it was launched in 2022, Nissan’s unique e-POWER technology will also benefit from an upgrade this year, including improvements to its emissions, efficiency and refinement, bringing the driving experience even closer to that of a full EV.
Beyond 2025, Nissan’s engineers continue to develop the third generation of its JUKE compact crossover, which is scheduled for launch in FY2026 as an EV, based on the Hyper Punk concept car which was presented in October 2023 at the Japan Mobility Show.
Additionally, a new EV will be added to the Nissan line-up from 2026 in partnership with Renault Group, through Ampere, which will produce a derivative of Twingo, a A-segment vehicle, designed by Nissan.
Loaded with innovative features, the new products will play a crucial role in elevating the company’s performance, boosting customer loyalty, attracting new buyers, increasing profitability, and promoting sustainable growth.
