RS Industrial Services to power ahead with support from Horizon Works

RS Industrial Services, one of the UK’s premier independent industrial services providers, has appointed North East-based international B2B marketing company Horizon Works to support its business growth strategy.

Following a management buyout earlier in 2024, RS Industrial Services is embarking on a major investment programme, and as part of this has commissioned Horizon Works to deliver specialist marketing services including strategy development, content marketing, digital marketing and design.

RS Industrial Services has sites in Billingham and Gateshead, and supports customers across sectors including energy, automative, engineering, manufacturing and pharmaceutical.  It provides crane and lifting equipment service & maintenance, 27/4 breakdown cover and installation, delivers specialist projects, and offers an extensive range of industrial and safety supplies. In addition, the company provides accredited industry training courses which are delivered at its Training and Development Centre and at customers’ sites.

The company is investing heavily in its workforce, equipment and facilities, and is rolling out a new ERP system in 2024, the single biggest investment in the company to date.

The management buyout of RS Industrial Services was backed by Foresight Group, a leading listed private equity and infrastructure investment manager, through a fund dedicated to the North East and Yorkshire.

The appointment by RS Industrial Services comes at a time of increased growth for Horizon Works, which is experiencing rising demand for its specialist B2B marketing services. Huddersfield-headquartered power transmission specialist Lancereal and Northumberland-based de-icing, anti-icing and heat transfer fluid manufacturer Kilfrost have both commissioned Horizon Works to deliver extensive marketing support this year, and Horizon Works recently strengthened its team with the additions of Senior Multimedia Designer & Website Developer Micheal Maddison, Senior Creative Designer Peter Willis and Creative Artworker Judith Alderson.

Samantha Vassallo, Managing Director of Horizon Works, said: “RS Industrial Services is an established leader in its field which provides essential services and products to North East England-based business, and supports many of the UK’s key industry sectors – including offshore wind and automotive. It’s now building on strong foundations to open a new chapter of business growth, and we’re delighted to be playing our part in that as its marketing partner.”

Mark Cawley, CEO of RS Industrial Services, said: “Our decision to invest more in marketing aligns with our strategic vision to expand our brand presence and reach new audiences. Having recently invested in our company, we are committed to maximizing the potential of our marketing efforts, and this reflects our commitment to driving growth, expanding our market presence and delivering exceptional value to our customers.

Upon reviewing their portfolio and witnessing firsthand the impact of their work, it became clear that they possess a deep understanding of our sector and have successfully propelled brands to new heights.

“We are confident that partnering with Horizon Works will provide us with the valuable skills and assets needed to accelerate our brand and achieve our marketing objectives.”
